Crazy Love tour
on Iceland
It needs courage
to come to the 20.million years old volcano island in the deep blue north
battling thru eruption and Ice and fire but
nothing can stop Marianne and her crew. Marianne Faithfull held the
opening show here in Iceland 11.11.04 at Hótel Iceland in Reykjavík
at Broadway saloon they just renewed the sound system and lights.
I drove from
Keflavik to Reykjavík on ice road very exicidet that evening to see the legend
Marianne Faitfull show.
The hotel opened 20:00 I was there 19:30 it was getting crowded all ready it was
rather cold out the
wearing my bautiful stonesplanet t-shirt and coat it was nice when we
finally got
inside and got warmed up.From there to searce for good spot
they had planted few chairs on the main staige I found one in 3rd row a
great view from there.
Fernando
Saunders and Courtney started to heat up the engine
around 20:30 with 3 great songs from his cd Fernando was dreesed up like
those in Pirets of the Caribbien very cool.
22:00 Marianne,
Barry Reynolds and talent on keyboard Harry Waters the bright side of the
moon enjoyed them. The Ballad of Lucy Jordan was early in the program number 2
so we didn´t have to wait long hear this great song everything ran smooth she
sang with her strong good voice like Time Squair,Sister Morphine, Kissing time,
As tears go by would’n be nice to hear Mick and Faithfull sing a duo on As
tears go by!,Crazy Love and few more from Before the Posion.
Everything began
to erupt when Working class hero and Broken English started the band was well
heated up at this time and everyone left their skate’s behind and were relaxed
and good exrta base from Fernando and great guitar solo. Harry and Courtney
having good time. It would be nice to have Harry Waters with his father
on Ice one day.
The show ended
around 24:00 and time to drive back to Keflavik the road was still icy and some
wind but it was very nice to sit in the warm car and try to sing some of
those beautiful songs. There was audiance from all over, Cashiers in
bank’s,Bus driver´s,Doctors,Media people,Press people,Chief of
police,Icelandic musician´s and many young people attended.
