LAS VEGAS PARTY

The Rolling Stones fans, Bobby Keys and Steel Wheels get together in Las Vegas was a smashing success.
Over 75 fans from around the country gathered to spend St Patrick's Day week-end in "Sin City". Our first encounter with Bobby was Friday at lunch. About 12 of us were sitting around and Bobby Came over and joined us for a while. He made sure that everyone got to say hi and get their pictures taken with him.
Friday afternoon, there was a great blues jam at the Hard Rock. Bobby showed up again with Janna and James from Steel Wheels and just hung around with everybody. Friday night, we took over a karaoke bar and we did all our best (?) Stones impressions.

Saturday afternoon was the Video party at the local bar. We showed, Shepherd's Bush, Hyde Park, Marquee Club 1971, Paris 1976 and Rock and Roll Circus among other videos.
(Videos and boots were also shown all week-end long in suite 920).
Bobby came to the party and was great, drink a few Jack and cokes and going around meeting everybody.
Something I never knew before, Bobby told us that the first time he ever played with the band was at Altamont.
Saturday night was the big show. Our group had a roped off section in front of the stage with free drinks and appetizers.
Bobby's mother had passed away earlier this week, but he wanted to be with us and dedicated the show to her.
Steel Wheels gave us some great Stone's music, and Bobby played his heart out.
Among other songs, we heard Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Bitch, Live With Me, Sister Morphine, Anybody Seen My Baby, Out Of Control, and Saint Of Me.
The band played 2 sets.
At the start of the second set, Bobby came out and dedicated Harlem Nocturne to his mother, and played it solo.
I swear there was not a dry eye in the house.
The rest of the night he rocked up on the stage, twirling his sax, and dancing around. It was so special. Unfortunately the week-end has to end and Sunday morning most of us headed back to our real lives.

Look for word soon on the next big get together in September. I promise there will be some special surprises. Till then ---
