Review:
Hi again, it
is me Maloukeefgirl .
Am sure you have read my story on the StonesPlanet about the happening at
the rehearsing studio in Vilvoorde, Belgium before the opening of the tour
and seen my review in the fanzine with some very special pics on the 1st
concert in Werchter on the 5th of June.. the great stones story continues
ended in London on Sunday
26th august 2007 at the Dome - 02 Arena .
Let me tell you our
story...
Early August Sandra (the lovely girl that posed
with Keith .) offered to
join her for this last show together with her dad and a friend.
Saturday 25th August 2007
We
left Brussels South Station on the saturday morning at 7.29am local time
and arrived in Waterloo Station London at 8.25am. We had fun - talked a
lot - laught - in a great mood we were.
Got on the tube to go to our Hotel - we were lucky that Sandra was well
organised and knew precisely where to go. She was in London already in July
so it was a piece of cake for her. She is the greatest guide one could
have. The Hotel people was very friendly so we had good feeling about our
stay. We left the hotel at around 10.00 and again on the tube to go to an
extraordinary place - a flea market full of colours and fascinating people -
lots of gothic punk and Jamaicans - and a few tourists like us. Nice
atmosphere full of music all over the place. Then we started to look for
Stones stuff and got a few good ones. Badges, pins - T-shirts - collectors
etc - Again back in the Tube to go somewhere else Bond Street, Baker
Street....
Then back to hotel to get ready for our evening to the famous
STICKY FINGERS Bill WYMAN“s RESTAURANT
www.stickyfingers.co.uk

Got there at around
7.00 pm - the place was still quiet - they had painted
the windows with a large red tongue no one could miss. Concert DVD was
playing - then the bar started to fill up and tables were now taken by lots
of fans - some of them we recognized. Nice to be part of a special family
hey.
WE WERE ON STONES PLANET NO DOUBT
Had a very nice meal. Got the menu with me as souvenir. £ 2.50 please
We looked around the place - walls were covered with great posters - gold
records - paintings - guitars - pictures .
More people were waiting to get in and lots of tongue T-shirts were seen.
We got back to our hotel and tried to get some sleep for the following day -
concert day. Of course we could hardly sleep.Rock n roll my friend.
THE BIG DAY ... Sunday 26th August 2007 was another great sunshine day
Got up at around 8.30 - nice breakfast and then off we went shopping again
and got to the Its Only Rock n Roll memorabilia store in famous
Baker
Street . Lots of incredible merchandise about the Stones and other artists.
Got ourselfves a Stones backpack so every one in the street would know what
we were here for. (ahaha) Began to see some fans walking around . Some
stairs and tube stations later we went to get changed.
Sandra was wearing a great white outfit - nice white top, white jacket and
white skirt with boots and most important her famous Stones Hat no one could
miss. I decided to just be cool with a pair of jeans with white Stones
T-Shirt and white shirt.
Got to the Dome 02 Arena at around 5.30pm. Lots of fans already there.
Exciting. Met old friends and new ones. Went to the exhibition corner where
some Ronnie“s Paintings were to buy. Beautiful. Atmosphere was growing as
time was passing by.
BACK STAGE
6.00pm - we were a bit nervous. Sandra went to collect the concert
tickets..
Went to the entrance number indicated on the tickets, received a VIP pass
for the lounge/Back stage .YES we are in .. Mixt of people in the
elevator - very trendy ones - special ones and us also special ... FANS. We
were shaking.
Doors open waouhhh - Back stage we were - first Stones team member we
saw
was lovely Bernard Fowler having a drink and looking very fit and happy.
We
did not know where to look in fact we were looking everywhere for the boys
hey. Bill Wyman and family were there .
A great buffet full of goodies, sushis, vegetarian food, pastry, lovely
dishes all over - Very cosy lounge - bar was open... Charlie was having
diner . Moved around and saw L'wren Scott (6.3) , Mick's (5.9) very tall
girl friend. Sandra could not resist and asked for a picture together..
Then Mick's kids were having fun - Georgia May, Gabriel and James - sorry we
are not allowed to show any pics... just for us then. Two little blond heads
came around us asking if we were here for the Rolling Stones, too cute.
Asked he we knew Ronnie Wood as he was uncle and grand Pa - Real sweet
little ones. Stars already. Had a chat with several "people" -
nice and
strange at same time.
TThen
warm up band "the enemy" started to play it was 7.30pm but no one
really paid attention.. We only wanted to see the Stones. Met some other
special people and so more pictures for Sandra. She was enjoying it. I was
just looking around amazed to be in a place I never thought I would see.
Our friend Stefaan was also enjoying himself. Having a great time. I talked
to the producer of the Shows in Spain and got to meet Chuck Lavell. Looking
great Chuck. I have a nice picture of Chuck and me which I will post
later.
We did not really know if we were allowed to take pictures at a private
party and needed to ask each time. Sometimes we got a no sorry. Ok. Some
other fans were there too from Germany, Austria, Spain. Some known famous
faces. It was too close to the start of the show and neither Mick or Keith
did come back into the lounge . Sad.
Then
we moved to the concert area - fully packed with 23.000 screaming fans
Got to VIP tribune seats next to Mick's children. Fantastic view to the
stage. I went further down were the photographs were and got some real
good
pics. Stones were in great form, looked very happy and perhaps happy too
that the tour was over.
Tour was very demanding, rehearsing, travel - show and travel - show again
etc. 3 months non stop - StonesTime - Team member said to me
that as long
as Mick says it continues then it does. Another tour in a couple of years
time... Cant wait.
Keith would play in a wheel
chair he said and even added during an interview
that it was no problem for Charlie as he was sitting all the
times.(laught) - Trust him.
Sandra took lovely and many pictures that she will probably share with
you...
During show
Keith waved to her - she had her famous hat that she wore at
Vilvoorde when Keith had picture taken with her. This Hat is famous all over
the Stones Planet. Very impressive. Happy girl.
A couple of hours, too short - its only rock n roll but we love it.
Thank you Gentlemen thank you Lisa you are a Lady. Beautiful as usual.
The place is now empty full of memories
Had a great unforgettable time
Had a drink with some other Belgian fans
The Stones party continued at Simpsons ...
We got back to our hotel at 4.00am exhausted but HAPPY as one can be.
Stones are in our mind and in our heart. They are not gods but they have an
incredible power on our lifes ...so perhaps at some point ...
Monday 27th august
More shopping - Harrods then got back into the punk and flea market area and
later on to Waterloo station - train back to Brussels and Ostende ...
.Great week end.
Thank you Sandra, Stefaan and Sylvain
KEEP ON ROCKIN'MY FRIENDS
