I just got home from Chicago and Friday I am off to Miami.
We had a great time at the Chicago shows. They were tough on cameras, so no
photos from the Stones shows.
They were tough on cameras, so no photos from the Stones shows. Wednesday
nights show was definitely a great one (and we were in the front row on
Keith's side, which always makes things better) and much better than
Monday's show. The band seemed tired after coming back from their stint in
NYC. They tend to be so busy in NY that sometimes the shows that immediately
follow are lackluster. I am sure you saw the horrible review in the Chicago
paper. (see on the review from the first show) But, Wed. was a great
performance-we got Love Is Strong, Memory Motel, Ain't Too Proud to Beg and
Respectable-all firsts for me this tour. Midnight Rambler was awesome again.
We got to go backstage before both shows again which was excellent as always.
The first night I got a 2006 Stones pick and the second night I got a Mick
Jagger pick. Today Blondie gave me a pick that says Chicago 01.23.06 on it, so
that was cool. Keith wore a silver scarf that I gave him as a belt on Wed.
during the whole show. And, I threw a thong onto the B stage that had a skull
on it and said "Got Keef?" and the funniest thing was that Mick
picked it up and stuffed it down the front of his pants...I just wonder what
his reaction was when he got back to the main stage, pulled it and saw
"Got Keef?"....that's hilarious! Being in the front row was cool
because we got waves and acknowledgements from Tim, Bernard & Daryl
from the main stage and Chuck & Daryl from the B stage. After the show Tim
said "You guys were beaming down there" and Daryl said "You
scored some awesome tickets".
Saw Tim Ries's show Tues., two shows back to back actually. Bernard sang, and
Daryl played bass with him for the first time. Tim, Blondie, Chuck and
some Stones security people all got copies of Stones Planet.
I did manage to get Keith's dressing room sign from the wall-Camp X-Ray.
Thanks BL for the good story and report.
