Stockholm, Sweden
The Rolling Stones arrived from their show in Copenhagen on July 20th on
Monday and Tuesday July 21st and 22nd 2003.
The band and the whole crew lived on Grand Hotel at Blasieholmen with a view
over to the Royal Castle in the heart of the City. An indeed beautiful place,
which also gave the band their best stay on the entire tour.
Since 1965 the band loved Sweden very much, and have several friends here,
many of these were seen during the past week on Grand Hotel or as VIP guests at
Globen, and Cirkus.
Before and after Stadion show:
Keith & Ron involved in car crashes in Stockholm
On the way back from Stadion and to the Grand Hotel, the three Mercedes and
one Chevolet Van drove through Stockholm like maniacs and without respecting the
red ligt. The three first cars came properly back to Grand Hotel. But in the
fourth and last one, the driver crashed the car into some wall, and the car was
badly damaged on the passenger site back, and a minute after, Keith came out
without saying a word. Later on champagne and other stuff were delivered to
Grand Hotel. The Rolling Stones had their own private party. At around 2 am this
morning Mick left to famous Spy Bar at Stureplan to party. He left in a little
black car. So no one was hurt in the accident.
Even
Ron Wood and his car a Mercedes was involved in a crash when they left the
hotel for the show. It crashed up into another car, while leaving the front on
the Grand Hotel. A total riot among the 400 fans caused the accident according
to Limousine Service in Stockholm.
Take care in the traffic in Stockholm.
After these incidents the Stockholm police decided to make the escort on some
of the longer transports.
Many fans outside
Grand daily:
Some fans (200 - 400) were staying outside the Grand Hotel
daily. Also many photographers and journalists had made their way to
BlasieHolmen to get the best photo - or maybe even some rumour. Partying
in Skärgården KEITH RICHARDS raised eyebrows with his wild parties
aboard a yacht, ordering eight bottles of vodka and 36 bottles of wine for a
group of 20 people, reports our source, and smoking copious amounts of pot.
“I don’t understand how he manages it,” the paper Aftonbladet quoted
one insider as saying, “But apparently his whole system would crash if he
became a clean living kind of person.” Mick Jagger, meanwhile, has turned
into a “health freak” in terms of his diet — he does no drugs, rarely
drinks, and eats mostly fish and rice — but that doesn’t mean he’s
behaving himself. Jagger was spotted inviting a gaggle of gorgeous Swedish women
back to his hotel room.
And a reporter for the paper Expressen gleefully followed around Jagger’s limo
and documented his driver’s numerous traffic violations. “Through red lights,
speeding, drove on a pedestrian walkway, went the wrong way on a one way street
— all to get to a concert on time,” says our source.
But the biggest flap came when one of the band’s handlers allegedly hired a
prostitute, then refused to pay her. “He wanted to call the police to get rid
of her,” says our source. “She told them to go ahead and call so she could
complain about not getting paid.” Mick Jagger visited VASA ship museum A
couple of hours touristing did Mick Jagger after a good lunch at Sturehof at
Stureplan, not far from SPY bar, which he visited together with several blondes.
After the lunch they drove away to Nybroviken to see the regalship Vasa and it's
amazing history. Keith Richards ordered his morning tea Nick
East from the English Shop in Stockholm got a special phonecall this morning. It
was Keith Richards order for his morning tea. Keith prefers a special British
tea, which only were available through The English Shop of course. Celebs at Cirkus show
Agneta Fältskog
are among one of the most never seen in public artists. But she came here to
enjoy an evening with Stones. Agneta Fältskog have been a victim to a Dutch fan
for many years. So the 53 year old artist don't use to turn up at these
arrangements.
But she really loved it and danced a lot to the great music, as when she was
one of the singers in ABBA.
Marie
Fredriksson sat togeter with her husband Micke Bolyos and
the Roxette-collegue Per Gessle on the vip-seats, only a few seats from my son
and me.
Per Gessle told afterwards he
gives 15 stars for this magnificent evening. On Cirkus all your feelings and
impressions came together just as once among the 1800 big people audience. Agneta
Fältskog have been a fan for many years of Rolling Stones and through her
contacts she made sure she could have two tickets for the show. We
had a chat with Wilmer X group, who also turned up here at the Cirkus. Actually
almost everyone of importance were here this evening.
Charlie on shopping: On
Monday 21st. Charlie went all alone with a taxi out in town, he wanted to visit
a special taylor famous for his silk shirts. Charlie did some shopping, and went
the way back to the hotel on feet whole alone without any security guards.
Goodbye Sweden
Keith said they will come back soon for new shows.
