Sydney Superdome:
Review by Kirk Trounson
This was my first Rolling Stones arena show, and i was just blown away!
The
energy of Mick jagger and the sound of those guitars are unforgettable, as
well as the atmosphere of the whole dome. I felt Ronie really shined on
guitar tonight, especially in Start me up, Can't you hear me knocking, and
many others. Gimme shelter with the lovely lisa was perfect to me, the best
i've heard, better than any bootleg! She's much more attractive in person
and from 4 rows back where i was. Being just 4th row from the front was
sensational, a great view of everything, with the band being so close just
as close as when i saw them at the enmore theater. It is hard to compare
this and the enmore show, they're so different, and enmore was a real treat
moreso since i got a ticket on the day for whats is considered a bargain
price, and that that had been my first ever stones show.
The sight of a darkened arean filled with glowing tongue pins was also a
sight to behold, but those moments when you know the stones are about to
come onstage out of the darkness are incredible, i've never experienced
anything like that! The energy and anticipation are amazing!
When the whip comes down was also especially good, it seemed to have a
harder rocking edge to it where i was.
Now that i've been to 2 shows, with tickets to the other dome show i've
got
a real hunger to see much more, i'd love to see more shows if i could, if
only they'd put on another one right here in Sydney!
The other thing i've liked about the stones shows i've been to now is the
fact that you get such a cross section of society at them, and how everyone
is friendly no matter what, and then only thing on people's minds is the
show, no politics, no worries, no fears, just all rolling stones.Just the
way it should be, roll on the next superdome show...
